How do you start over without feeling like you're behind?

The short answer
You start over by separating timelines from progress. Behind is a comparison; rebuilding is a direction. Choose one area to stabilize first, usually housing, income, or safety, and let everything else be okay being slow. You are not late. You are returning to yourself with more information than you had before.
Behind is not a real place
The woman who is exactly where you wish you were is also wishing she were somewhere else. The timeline you are comparing yourself to does not exist.
Pick one thing this season
Trying to rebuild everything at once is how women stay tired. Pick the one thing whose stability would change the most: housing, income, health, or community. Begin there.
Keep the soft things soft
Rebuilding is not the season to harden. It is the season to choose what you will protect with new clarity. The softness comes back. You make sure the structure is there to hold it this time.
Frequently asked
How long should rebuilding take?
As long as it takes. Healing has a pace and a process. What matters is direction, not speed.
What if I keep starting over?
Then you are still here. That is not failure. That is faith with stubbornness, which is a very useful combination.
